Mike Christensen attended college in Eastern Washington and began fly fishing the lakes and rivers around Spokane. After college he did commercial fishing in Alaska and fly fished the ocean, rivers, and mountain lakes during his spare time. He eventually settled in Whitefish in '97 and began guiding in '99 throughout the Flathead Valley and Glacier Park. He now lives in Missoula and guides the Bitterroot, Blackfoot, Clark Fork, Missouri, and Flathead River systems. "I began to take tying more creatively a year or two before I started guiding, tying mostly foam attractor patterns and large stone fly nymphs. Over the years I've broadened a bit, creating different streamers, nymphs, hoppers, mayflies, and caddis."
