Scott Carleton grew up in Springfield, Missouri and can't remember a time, except during his teen years when he discovered that girls were fun too, that he wasn't chasing fish with a fly rod. He learned to fly fish in northern Arkansas on the Norfolk and White Rivers before saying screw this and moving to Wyoming. He has guided on the Wind River in central Wyoming and the North Platte River near Saratoga, Wyoming for the last eight years and travels extensively in the pursuit of any fish species that will eat a fly. When Scott isn't chasing fish he is studying them as a fish and wildlife biologist at the University of Wyoming's Fish and Wildlife Research Unit. Scott is an avid fly tyer and is constantly creating and testing his diabolical creations on unsuspecting fish species. His fishing buddy Dan credits him with coining the phrase "modern flies for modern trout".
